Your recording is captured locally on your Mac, iPhone or iPad — no bot ever joins your call. Audio is stored in your own encrypted vault with configurable retention: from 1 hour up to "always," or device-only so nothing leaves your machine. Server-side AI transcription is off by default — you opt in per meeting, or run transcription on-device with our built-in model. Bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or Perplexity key to keep AI calls fully private.
Do I need to install a bot in my meetings?+
Never. Spellar records the audio of your call directly on your device — no extra meeting participant, no notification to attendees, no awkward "Notetaker has joined." You stay in control of when to record.
Which AI models do I get?+
GPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity are all included on Pro. Switch per-meeting, per-template, or per-question. You can also bring your own API key for unlimited use.
